Ouch!! "It's a little sore"

Time for Mom to update.  Lane has had a couple of busy weekends and it’s been a lot of fun.  Last weekend (Sat, the 22nd) Lane raced out at Motocity in Blanchard and came away with 1st place finishes in the 65cc 9-11 and the 65cc open, 3rd place in the 85cc 7-11.

Lane and Mom at Xtreme World Arenacross, Claremore, OK

We just got home from a weekend on the road.  Friday night we headed to Claremore, Oklahoma for an Xtreme World Arenacross.  Lane was up against some tough riders Saturday night and he worked really hard in the pre event moto, and the main event was even better.  He rode great, raced hard and came out with a 2nd and 3rd place on the 65 and on the 85 he got 6th.

As soon as the Arenacross was over we loaded up the toyhauler and headed down the turnpike to Angel Ridge in El Reno, Oklahoma for the last round of the Angel Ridge series.  We got there around 2am and fell into bed….only to wake up the next morning to find that the weather was not going to cooperate.  It was cold, wet and windy–downright miserable. I should have taken a picture of the mess.  No.  Nevermind.

Lane crashed pretty bad in practice on both of his bikes….tore up the 65 pretty good and also ended up with a few nasty bruises and a smashed up finger.  After practice, the weather got worse and the track was a mess but Lane toughed it out….fortunately the race was called after the first moto so we loaded up (mud everywhere and soaked gear, shoes, coats, towels, bikes…it was a mess) and headed home.

Next weekend, Rider Appreciation and Awards at Angel Ridge and possibly Winter Series Race at Sooner Sate Cycle Park in Wellston, OK.

Here is a pic of Lane with his friends:

Round 3 at Angel Ridge- Nov. 14 2009

Round 3 was a blast. The track was in awesome shape. Lane did a great job. He won all three classes. He was feeling really good and we all had a great time.  We got to spend the day with some new friends we made. Their names are Trey and Tara Payne. Their son Trendyn had his first race that day. He had a lot of fun too. We are looking forward to round 4 on Nov. 29.

Round 2 at Angel Ridge

This is Lane’s dad giving the update for round 2 at Angel Ridge Motocross Park.   It was tough day.We had a lot of rain that week and the track was really muddy. The weather was kind of cold and we had lots of wind. Practice was the hardest part I think. The ruts were really deep. The guys at Angel Ridge offered to refund the money for any one who felt the conditions were to rough to ride in. I asked Lane what he wanted to do. His words were and I quote: “I want to race. The only way you get good at riding in this stuff is to get out and ride in it.” After practice Troy and the gang at Angel Ridge did their best to get as much mud as possible off the track so when we started racing it was in much better shape but it still was tough to ride on. Lane went on to win the both 65cc classes and the 85cc 7-11 class. He had fun and he said he was glad he had the experience of riding in ruts that deep. We were really proud of him. No pics for round 2. The camera woman(mom) was in the trailer freezing.
